Software Engineering Manager

I am currently looking for a Software Engineering Manager to join a fantastic company based in the South West of England. With a well-established product portfolio, they provide a service to outdoor sports enthusiasts. With a growing team and customer base they are now looking to hire a senior member into the team. Hands on coding with a gradual evolution into a manager’s role.

Working with a group of technology and outdoor enthusiast, the entire office work with flexible arrangements. The majority using their own product every day, culturally one of the best companies I have been associated with.

This position will see you coding day to day however the long-term goal is to hire and build a cross-functional team around you. Defining a new robust hiring process, managing code quality and standards within the team, and contributing to the wider technical decisions for the company.

Ideally looking for someone that has worked as a manager but of course open to super stars that are moving in that direction. A proven track record of mentoring and developing engineers into great leaders. If you are currently leading a project, a technical lead or starting your career as a manager this could be perfect for you.

Experienced building web applications in a commercial environment a must, whilst exposure to mobile applications will earn you some bonus points.

The tech stack:

Node for the backend and React for the front. Another tech includes Redux, Webpack, MongoDB, Redis, ECS, Terraform and Docker.  If you have worked within a test-driven development environment than we must talk!

What is in it for you?

The opportunity to work for a company that fully trusts its employees to manage their own working day. Allows you to arrange your working hours so it fits around your family, hobbies, and life. At the same time, you get to work with like minded engineers on a product that is used everyday by a very happy customer base.
